Recollecting a Christmas Past

I see these kinds of challenges on Instagram stories all the time. Although I’m drawn to them, I usually don’t participate myself.

Today is Christmas Eve, though, so I wanted to share a photo from the past. This is my mom, my sister Char, and myself in our holiday finest posed next to the tree. I’m the older sister.

Char looks extremely cute in this picture while I appear caught off guard, like I’ve just seen a ghost. She captures the joy of Christmas while I represent the shock of the holiday season.

I wouldn’t say that is necessarily my energy as an adult but acknowledging what I’m feeling in the moment and responding authentically is. Char is still pretty joyful.
