A lot to dislike about Morse, but the fact that he misappropriated emergency funds during WWI after faking an illness to receive a medical pardon from President Taft, that's true villain energy.
Yep! Kind of makes me think of a certain group of people who keep telling us that "you can trust billionaires, they have money so why would they need to make more?" 😁
Ps if anyone listened to this I may have butchered a couple words on here because some I just was not sure how they are pronounced (e.g. Etruria). Next time I will be sure to get that down beforehand, it was a busy week lol!
One of my favorite true crime shows is American Greed. This is like a historical episode of that show, interesting to write about. Phillips H. Woods wrote a book about him if anyone is interested in further reading! It is called Scoundrel Bath, Maine's Charlie Morse:: Ice King and Wall Street Scoundrel.

I listened to it. Sounded good to me. I'm glad you have the audio option for these.
Thanks, there were a lot of words on this one I was not sure about, glad it came out okay though!

Excellent research. There is truly nothing new under the sun. Evil people continue to do harm, and ignorant people continue to be blindsided by them.
Thank you!! I agree, a sad statement on human nature and the lack of progress. Things to tend to go in cycles though so we can hope!
Fascinating!
Thank you! I thought this one was interesting. It truly shows the depths people will go to for greed!
Resemblance to living people purely coincidental!
Yes lol!! I have always been interested in these kinds of stories, it is interesting how it continues to happen. Human nature!!
