I'm going to echo what someone else said. I think this would make for a good book. Even though it's a small detail, the fact that she worked for an electric belt company is such an interesting avenue that could be explored that's so particular to the period.

I would love to write a book about this...honestly. How do I start?

I'd start by thinking about books you've liked that are similar to what you imagine writing (this will help you think about point-of-view, verb tense, interior dialogue, the balance of fact and fiction, etc.). Then, I'd just have fun with writing different scenes you think would be included in the story. This will help you identify areas where you want to do further research.

Thanks to all who followed along. I really was interested in this one and was amazed to see the spots I was able to, especially the cemeteries. Glad that Mollie's family was able to honor her with a headstone.

What a great conclusion to this series Charlotte!

It still gets me every time that even in death women had to meet a moral code of ethics that men didn’t.

I understand her brothers wanting to defend her honor though.

The correspondence with the doctor hangs in my head too because it causes me to wonder if Molly wasn’t suffering from a bladder infection.

Nowadays, of course, bladder infections are very easily treatable with antibiotics.

But in Molly’s day, there were no antibiotics such as penicillin available.

That means that if she had a bladder infection, it would’ve gone on in prolonged ways and certainly been uncomfortable and I think uncomfortable enough that she would have asked that doctor twice in regard to the unknown problem.

This is supposition on my part though, of course.

The cemetery photos are splendid!

And finally, I am glad that Molly received a proper headstone so that she can be located easily from here on out.

Maybe since you felt a presence that’s her indicating she likes having visitors .

One never knows.

That is such an interesting thought about the condition!! I never thought of that, and that could be so true!

Let me tell you, I have gone to places that are supposedly haunted and felt nothing, but i really did feel a presence like someone was walking nearby and watching. I think she wants more visits! I think i will definitely revisit this story! And I appreciate your feed back!

Of course I didn’t finish my thought about the bladder infection, having such would imply that she was probably having sexual relations with the father or at least some kind of sexual activity was going on.

I do know what you mean about cemeteries though. I’ve visited some with notorious graves… not one hair out of place…and then I’ve been around others that were more than strange that shouldn’t have been. 😂

And of course you’re welcome! 😊

That was a lovely coda to the story-- that her family went searching for her and gave her a headstone.

Are there any leads as to what happened to O'Grady? Or did he disappear completely?
