I kind of had a week like that last week. I read, spent time with Shayla and family ,drank coffee and walked my dogs! That is my happy.

These sound so nice! I think I'd add oysters to my perfect day, too. :) My perfect day might also include a walk in the woods, a picnic, and probably some paddleboarding. However, if I were to do a perfect city day, I'd pretty much borrow your schedule!

Thanks for sharing. I realize I need to figure out what my perfect day in Western Mass looks like since I spend most of my time here! Walk in the woods is on that list.

I also love the Morgan. I am lucky enough to work in a building off Bryant Park so sometimes nip down there during my lunch hour. Their bite sized exhibitions are perfect for a short visit during a lunch break.

My visit there was very impromptu. I've stayed in Nomad the past two times I've visited New York and wanted to check out the Morgan but never made it. I saw a sign for it when I was walking from Grand Central to my brunch spot and thought "I have half an hour." Didn't get to see as many exhibits as I would have liked but the library was stunning.

Also hoping to make it back to New York soon to visit the Frick Museum. I listened to a podcast about the reopening on my drive to New Haven and now I really want to check it out.

Both of these days sound absolutely lovely! I don't know if I have a "perfect day" per se, but I did enjoy wandering Manhattan last week with my friend Asa. We went to Poets House, which is an incredible place (where my friend Rob is the executive director) and then the Irish Hunger Memorial (which is nearby) and then had tea and snacks at The Té Company and strolled around until it was time for us to get to a reading that evening. Lots of wonderful conversation about life and poetry and all of the intersections thereof for both of us, and the evening's reading and dinner afterwards with our friend Annie had me utterly blissful.

That sounds like a super lovely day, especially being in the company friends and doing things related to your craft.

you know it seems to show that if you have the good fortune to have perfect days then your life is good.

Good question! Hard to answer. I’m old enough to have experienced many enjoyable days. My ADHD usually means my perfect day involves something new and different each time. Visiting new places. Waterfalls. Places where I can take lots of photos. It also often involves some combination of my children/ grandchildren, and probably involves friends, music and a chance to dress up. Attending orchestra concerts, weddings, or musicals, all fit the bill. And because I am a closet introvert, a chance to decompress at the end of the day is always good.

I love the observation that your perfect day would change because you enjoy new experiences. There's a lot to say for routine and sticking with favorites, but there is so much to explore in the world.
